Doctrines of the Covered Covenant of the Terror of the Lamb (excerpt)
The Covered believe every human embryo holds either the ghost of an ancestor escaping Heaven, or a demon being rewarded for some special atrocity with a lifespan among mortals.
They say the embryo has teeth, which it wears away creating a skin for itself by chewing its outermost soul into a tangible fabric.
The skin, by the way, is the first part of the body eaten by Jesus and the Apostles in the saved soul’s afterlife, “skin torn quick from the writhing dead,” as their prophet writes. The blood of the deceased is passed around in clay cups, their tears used to season their own flesh as it is carved apart at the joints and served raw on golden platters.
Heaven is where Jesus eternally exacts revenge for His suffering, both on the cross and in every church’s communion service where He is devoured anew week after week.
The Covered fast on Sundays. They abstain from bread, grain, grapes, raisins, grape juice, and wine—not to win mercy, but to starve the seventh soul so that it will be slight enough to slip out of celestial containment and possess a new embryo here. Troubled as life on Earth may be, at least it isn’t Heaven.
