The Rose Tree's Complaint

The soul is the missing body that would prove the crime. The corpse sings & everyone hears the song but no one can find the source. The corpse sings of the primal sin, the initiating abomination, the calling of itself into being. All following offenses have been the worshipper's response to this call.

I was soil, dark & cold,
but sun & seed, tranquility's old foes,
drew me out of the unformed
& twisted me into a little
