Gusoyn Speaks (poem)

Posted on October 14, 2025 By Bryant Jacobi

Gusoyn Speaks

You imagine us angry, spiteful,
eager to destroy the world,
little replicas of your God
stripped of robes and thunder,
having only insinuating whispers left.
If we do bring venom
to human veins—from where?
Knowing your hearts like Jesus,
we serve secrets you secrete,
anticommunion: this is your flesh,
your blood. We circulate sin.
We are not the source.
